9441 That airline again!

OK so I have stopped ranting about Ryanair now and stopping the Liverpool - Ancona flight - there's no point flogging that particular dead horse, is there. However, I've discovered another way ... I need to go out in mid-May and have just booked from East Midlands to Rimini (yes, with Ryanair, who else) for £15. Getting from Liverpool to E Mids seems quite easy - I've booked a train for £10, then there's a bus from the train station in Nottingham direct to the airport for another couple of £s ...

At the other end it's only a couple of hours or so from ours straight down the coast and I have to admit I'm being picked up ... however there are good train routes from Rimini down the coast too.

It's not ideal and for many people Rome is probably a better bet. Just thought I'd mention it though as another option for people from the Frozen North, until Ryanair get their act together, listen to their customers and take note of the fact that Le Marche is still developing.

And that, as they say, is likely to be when the Frozen North truly freezes over ... :nah:

They are also starting a Birmingham - Forli (60ish kms south of Bologona) route in mid June which may be useful to some.

We're doing that in July - I think it puts about an hour on the journey Italy-end but an hour less UK end. And the Italy end is never such a pain to drive.

My parents flew in on the East Midlands- Rimini flight & a friend of ours used it last week- a word if you are meeting anyone- it seems to be landing 30 mins early!Although it's a pain for us to drive double the distance to pick them up it's not a bad drive and at least the flight gets in late enough for you to miss the traffic on the way back. It's definitely better than going to Rome

The East Midlands to Rimini flights stop at the end of october - hope they're back next summer as I've enjoyed using this route the couple of times I've been over this summer. Both times arrived 30 minutes early as per HelenMW's post. Liked the ease of getting through the airport to car hire pick up and out onto the main road.
On some october dates there are flights for £1 including taxes if you book by the end of sunday

Ryanscare flights always seem to be on time, or even early.
I wonder if their timetable flight times are fixed at longer than required so that they can claim a superb timekeeping record?

Why not - UK train operators have done this for years
