For good modern design you can try Nicoletty, have a look at:

And then theres

Nice stuff.... but I find that if catalogues don't have prices it means it's too expensive for me!

Well, I'm afraid that cheaper options may mean IKEA or MONDO CONVENIENZA. Nothing wrong with them as some of their options are good and could suit any decor.

Sue I sympathise. I was looking at a garden furniture printed catalogue in Italy recently and was pleasantly surprised regarding prices. However it means dialogue with the sales assistant who has to look the cost up and a having subsequent feeling one ought then just to order. That happened with my bathroom furniture too. Much better for the client to see everyone's prices both online and in print, then choose without pressure.

.A lot of the Ikea stuff is toot ,but their furniture is not bad and we are happy with the sofa bed we bought from them .You are not far from us so I think you will find you can order online and they will deliver to your property, which is an advantage

If you fancy a good quality sofa bed with a sprung mattress, have a look at this make - they are found in good furniture shops. Very comfortable to sleep on.

Hi,
Sorry to hijack this thread but i need some urgent advice. I am trying to ring customer services at the Pescara Mondo Convenienza, as our furniture is due to be delivered this week. Today I have received 2 missed calls from them on my mobile but it wont allow me to ring them back using that number. I have the store number 0775 646160, the international code is 0039 and i also have the Pescara area code 085. I have tried every combination of numbers that i can think of but still cant get through.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Does Katia speak any English?
I emailed a Veronica at Mondo who other forum memebers said speaks very good English. Unfortunetly, her email account is no longer active so I presume that she has now left Mondo.

I'm guessing nobody caught the Rai 3 show on Mondo a few months back?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
What did it say about them?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
They had a handful of upset customers and the company owner.
A few had install issues. The worst being one woman that was trapped under her kitchen cabinets when they fell off the wall.
The rest just never had the goods delivered.
I'm sure some of this is just a function of volume. Do enough sales and somebody will have problems.

I have just received an email from Katia at mondoconvenienza today so if any one has been trying to get her, try again. She may have been on holidays or something as she usually replies within the day.

Where to buy a sofa bed
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 07/27/2008 - 05:14In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Hi I have the most beautiful sofa bed, which has been used once, for one night only. It is Italian, cream with black wrought iron frame,.2 cream roll cushions at each side and 4 cream square cushions along the back. It is modern, very chic.
If you are interested I will try and send a photo
We are selling up next year, and selling off all big pieces of furniture.

Which one? I see many sofa beds but, with the exception of a couple of Italian names such as "espresso" I do not see anything really Italian......

My sofa bed ( and I quote from the label ) is a "CANTORI" Sofa Ferro- Luigi Filippo.
This was bought from Rossini Grand Casa.

Thanks for the information. I am in the UK at the moment, but travelling out to Lecco next week. I have done a web search on Rossini Grand Casa but can find no trace on 'Goggle' - could you provide some further info e.g. are they local to Como etc, or do they have a website?
Many thanks

I also have a house near Lecco and we have used the furniture superstore at Suello which is on the main road to Como and for a cheaper option Ikea just north of Milan. You can find the address of that on the net.I have to say though that all furniture seems pretty expensive in Italy.
We have bought a place in near Lecco (45km North of Milan) and we are looking to replace an old sofa bed. Does anyone have knowledge of a quality furniture dealer in that region that we can visit to look at design/style etc.
you're house is on the edge of the largest furniture manufacturing area in Europe,
in the zone between Monza-como- desio-seregno etc are nearly all the names you probably know, most of these have show rooms outlets etc,i'd suggest that you look thru almost any magazine italian or english for something you like then find where they are or where there are stores that have their divans etc,if in doubt ask the neighbours.
