9544 From Liverpool to Bologna

Hello everyone

my name is Tony and in the summer I will leave the UK and move to Italy. I am 46 and have three children who have all left home, and so, after raising them, I decided it was time to start my 'second life'. I fell in love with Italy last year after several holidays and visits and I know in my heart it is the right place for me for now. After some visiting around I decided I would like to live in Bologna.

I have started to learn Italian: To me Italian has a lyrical feel to it, caused I think because the noun endings are so similar and the verbs too. Writing rhyming couplets in Italian will be a lot easier than in English!

It would be great to meet-up with some ex-pats in and around Bologna. I'll be there 5th, 6th and 7th June (arriving 4th, leaving 8th).

Well that's me!

Tony

good for you. Are you planning to find work (if so, you'd better make rapid headway with the Italian lessons!) or are you in the fortunate position not to need gainful employment? You don't say, but it kind of sounds as if you will be going it alone? Again, good for you (and I reckon Bologna would be a fantastic place to begin solo life in Italy, it's one of my favourite cities). Anyway, hope it all lives up to expectation.

welcome and good luck to you all

thanks! I have a job with a UK company and they agreed I can work from Italy!!

in the words of Month Python ... "you lucky, jammy b@stard" :-)

Hi Tony,

Congratulations Tony - what a wonderful arrangement to be able to work for the same company from Italy!

Speaking as a fellow Scouser I wish you all the very best and hope you enjoy your new life. Of course you may miss the footie - if you support The Mighty Blues that is. If you're a Red you won't be missing much ...

Good luck

Cath.
