9576 Swimming pool

I would like to build a swimming pool in Basilicata, close to Puglia. Ideally I would like to have a natural swimming pool. Anybody know of local agents who build these and whether the cold winter and hot summer causes any problems? Any general advice very welcome too. Thank you.

There is a good company from Padova who make natural pools and bio pools anywhere their web site is :::::::::::: A.P.ITALIA - LA PUBBLICITA' FA DIVENTARE GRANDI :::::::::::: ,i think it has an english mode too.
we may use them.The problem is not summer winter but the fact that in a more southern latitude (these tecnolgies) were developed mainly in northern europe should you be wanting to do the full thing with reed bed filters etc that they may have to study a different mix of plants in order to keep it functioning well.Anyway we're not in padova and they can do it here with local contractors who they have all over the country.they'll also give you a full detailed estimate etc.

Does it make a difference between basilicata close to puglia or close to campania or calabria?

The area closer to Puglia tends to be rather flat where the center and western portion of Basilicata is more mountainous. Could be an issue of temperature variances with altitude differences?

A word of warning

- if you are thinking of renting your property with a bio pool "Brits from blighty" will not like black swimming holes with frogs in it;

- secondly these pools cost generally more to build

- so don't expect property values to increase.

- In fact I will go so far as to say they may even decrease the property value (loosing on two fronts) as most prospective buyers will probably want to change back to a traditional pool.

Their ideal is crystal sparkling clear water with a deep blue tint!! We speak from experience....:smile:

On the rental side, I know what you are saying Lotan, but surely good marketing of the property would ensure that only those who appreciated the eco element (or didn't read the detail) would book?:smile:
