9622 for fans of woody allen

I was looking up something about a favourite book ("The magus", by john Fowles) and I came upon its Wikipedia article, which went on to talk about the film version. I haven't seen it but it's clearly a howler (Michael Caine said it was the wost moive he'd ever been in, and lets be honest, he's been in a few stinkers!) ... however, woody allen's comment had me in stitches:

A film version was released in 1968, directed by Guy Green, and written by Fowles. It starred Michael Caine as Nicholas Urfe, Anthony Quinn as Maurice Conchis, Anna Karina as Alison, Candice Bergen as Lily/Julie, and Julian Glover as Anton, and was filmed in the island of Majorca. The adaptation, however, was a failure. Michael Caine himself has said that it was the worst film he had been involved in, because no one knew what it was all about. Woody Allen said "If I had to live my life again, I'd do everything the same, except that I wouldn't see The Magus."[1] The Magus was commercially released on DVD in the US on October 17, 2006 .

beautifully succinct as ever!

Never a fan of woody allen, although as a young kid,i knew his films had breasts in.

Now i am older and maybe wiser, some of his films are good [with or without breasts]

But him, himself. Not worth a comment.....

if you were after a glimpse of bosom (or more), the french films on BBC2 were the business when I was a lad and wrestling with the old hormones. You had to watch alone in the spare room, and from a distance of about 1 foot from the screen though - so you could keep one finger on the BBC1 button, ready to flick over to a documentary if mum came in with tea and biscuits.

I really wanted to post here.............but it would have given far,far too much information out about me

never mind, I'm sure Mary will tell all, one day when you're not looking.
