The local paper said wettest Spring for 40 years and that summer should arrive the last week of June! Speriamo.

I think it is the same throughout Italy. It certainally is in Friuli Venezia Giulia where my father-in-law lives. The depressing thing is they keep having heatwaves in England, but not here. I've had 2 lots of friends to stay recently and I spent the whole time appologising for the weather.
Today has been lovely, so perhaps this is the start of summer - it's the first day of the school hols so maybe it's a sign!!!

But I remember it being the same last year too, bucketed down all May and only around now cleared up. Then we had record highs in July, we had approaching two solid weeks of 40 something here, come mid-August the Val d'Orcia looked like a dust bowl.
There must be some upside... isn't it good for the vines or olives or something?...
