9775 Electricity almost cut off - Postman not delivering bills!

I'd just like to tell you about my recent experience which thankfully was resolved in time....

I'm renting my detatched house and my electricity bill is still in my landlord's name. Last night my meter kept tripping for some reason, so I called Enel to see what the problem was.... Reason : my bills hadn't been paid! But I hadn't received them!
After some thought I came to the conclusion that my new postie didn't know that bills in my landlord's name have to be delivered at my address. It's not like in England where if the house numbers match the letter is delivered! The names have to match too! My old postman used to ring and ask, but as I've learnt, not all posties can be trusted with our mail!

My postman always used to give our mail to one of my neighbours (and still does sometimes) because even if those letters were all addressed to us in name, the house number was the old one. "Old one" because almost ten years ago the numbers in our street were changed. This is to say that yours is not a general rule, it all depends on how reliable your postman is. And I'm sorry to say that most are not much reliable...

our road has been renamed and the house number changed three times in 6 years (as the area becomes less rural and more urban). When we told our postie about the changes as they happened his response was - if I went by the address I'd never deliver anything. he went by name and I must say he is more reliable than the post in Spain , and more recently, UK
