As far as I can determine, the Museo Carlo Bilotti opened in May 2006 and their exhibitions have included artists like Damien Hirst, David Salle, Jenny Saville and Willem de Kooning. Not too sure how easily Corot would sit with that lot.

Exactly - which is why I am not convinced it is the one Elliven is seeking despite it meeting all the other criteria!

thanks to everyone, I am really trying to see first-hand some of Corot's paintings done while in Rome and while travelling in the hinterland, particularly near Olevano Romana. As to the Carlo Bilotti I think there must have been a guest collection on view when I last visited! Any info regarding location of Corot's Italian works gratefully received.

A couple of years ago there was a major exhibition of his work in Ferrara - attached is a list of the various works that were on display and where they are usually displayed. Hope you find the ones you are looking for - they seem to be quite scattered!

This is the only gallery I can think of that matches your description - it is in a converted Orangery (Villa Borghese), so is on the edge of a park and Carlo Bilotti did spend time in America. However, I am not sure if it is one you remember as I see no mention of Corot - perhaps it was a special exhibition?
