Thanks for that. Yes they would be happy to do that.
Unfortunately some of them seem to charge quite a lot more than
local rates and some are not too helpful to their clients (Not all I hasten to add)
which can start things off on the wrong foot. (Also seems to apply to some Italian agencies advertising to foreigners)

I’d have thought that a good website in both English and Italian would be a good idea, plus they could leave business cards, with their web address, at local Estate agents.
They could also include pictures of their work and testimonials as to how good they are.
That way they should get people who are searching on the web and those who are in the process of purchasing a property.

They are just in the process of setting up web site. As you know there are a lot of sites out there and I was hoping to find the best places for them to advertise once the site is up. They do deal with the local agents but no web site up to now to refer people to. Thanks - will pass on suggestion.

I think that you also need to perform a few web searches using English key words. Then find out the commission rates of the companies who are highly visible to the english market. Also go on Properties for sale, homes to rent, overseas property, retirement properties and new homes on rightmove.co.uk and review Marche houses in the overseas property section, these agents are also highly visible and shoud be considered. For all the sites ask what kind of traffic they receive a month and how many enquiries. I think that you would do well to do the same for the Dutch an German markets as they are more bouyant and haven't suffered currency devaluations
They could always try getting a working partnership with English working Estate Agents....
