Has anyone signed up to Telecom Italia - Teleconony Internazionale, unlimited calls to Europe and USA? I have got my new land line, very quick and efficient, as they could use some existing poles. However every time I ring 187 to find the economy offers I get as far as other offers available and the line sounds busy.
This tariffe sounds too good to be true, 10 euro per month to call whenever and without limits.
There also seems to be Opzione Internazionale which advertises 60 cents per 5 mins to Europe.
Any experiences?
If you register with the 187 website you should be able to do it all online.
There is a low cost per minute service. I think 7 or 8 cents per minute. If you aren't making lots of calls this might be a better service.

We signed up when we arrived last september. Our last bill showed 76 hours international calls at no cost. Fantastic value for the 20 euro the 2 months cost us.
Steve
PS, I still cant imagine how we managed more than 1 hour of international calls a day!

Hi All
Is this a landline based system or Voip ?

I also use Teleconony Internazionale, It is a real boon, when my kids or friends ring me, I t5ell them to put the pjone down and ring them straight back, as it costs me no money apart from the monthly charge.
It is a great system and works well. There is also Teleconomy Internet, which gives unlimited dial up internet access (not fast) for just 10 € + IVA.

Does this 10 euros a month cover all your Italian calls as well as international ones? Is it also for the land line? ie. Do you just literally pay 10 euros a month and that`s it? Sounds too good to be true!!

No the 10 Euros is just the international calls. You need to pay for the line and whatever else you need. Still if you're making lots of calls even with the fixed line costs it ends up cheaper.

Yes it is a genuine bargain and I read about it on this site FIRST. So sincere thanks for the post. We finally got round to cross checking Tele 2 our "first choice" provider (their site now lacks detailed info) and Elephant Talk (very good for calling abroad if you are not always in Italy). The 10 euros a month offer was the best deal but we also discovered that for months we had been paying for a Telecom It. service we did not use. The nice lady from Telecom Italia rang to say we'd get a 50 euro refund! Anyhow I am not the trusting type so even though the website says we registerd on ? June, I am dialling 1033 before 0044 until we have completed the forms to cancel our "first choice" provided by Tele 2. That has been the most laborious part of changing. You ring Telecom Italia to say you are cancelling the Tele 2 service. Answer trillions of questions and because of the Legge, they have to send you a form to sign. So beware if you too are using another company at present for your "first choice" service provider. You could still be paying another co. until a form is completed, for what you think is only 10 euros a month to Telecom Italia.

We've used the E10pm service for over 2 years now, its been a godsend, although it covers europe this does not include Italy, this costs another E15 pm.

If you go to the :: 187.it - Homepage - :: website then you can sign up online. Saves on the connection charges to. Didn't take long for me [Less then 1 week]
Joined this nearly two years ago. It's just what it says it is... after the €10 per month - it's TOTALLY FREE!
I get unlimited free calls to Europe, plus the same to North America (USA + Canada). My bills tell me how many minutes I've used and show 'No Charge'!
Once I'd set up Skype on my PC I did consider cancelling Teleconomy Internazionale as I can call free aywhere with that. BUT, with that, people need to be on the 'net'. Yes I know you can pay for Skype credits and call anyone on a land line for ridiculously low sums of money per minute - and I do that too. However I have decided NOT to cancel Teleconomy, as recently I've had my PC fail - and numerous occaisions when the 'net' is down (all beyond my control), but luckily I could still keep in contact (almost) free of charge even without the 'net'!
