10029 sardinia north coast

we are looking at buying a property on the northern coast of Sardinia hopefully with a sea view, someone has advised me that maintenance costs may be high as it will be facing the sea, does anyone have any advice experience they could offer me ie how this affects a property so much

i appreciate it corrodes, but never having been fortunate enough to live by the sea before what does it corrode on a house? bricks? everything?
