Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them. It is very difficult to decide which is the one I prefer.

I like the washing line on a Venetian house.I do have a "thing" about washing lines. On my only visit to Portofino I was entranced by the tiny jewel of a bay where I was convinced someone had painted a line of washing on one of the bright coloured buildings. The clothes were all white and very delicate looking and hung down in fine points like a string of frail looking ghosts,
quite still. I was really impressed by this "mural" until the breeze blew. In our Italian house I adore having a washing line that hangs down from the balcony. Do I need psychiatric help?
ciao
pam

For those of you interested in Marche, I can recommend a fantastic photographic book by a local photographer called Giorgio Tassi. They are all of the National Park and his pictures are spectacular. I will try to find his website again and post it here but you can buy the book alled "Monti Sibillini" from the Casa del Parco in Amandola where they have a copy you can flick through.
Look here for some samples of his work: Comunicazione - Comuni Stampa, Giornale del Parco and click on Galleria or archivio fotografico.

We have a beautiful book of photos by Mariano Fagiani, given to us by our doctor, Remo Persichini, who wrote the poetry to accompany it. It is called Montagna Immenso Infinito, and has lovely photographs of the Sibilini.Next time I see him I will ask about copies as I believe it was created for an exhibition and is not on sale generally.

I know exactly what you mean, Pam. I can't help photographing them, whenever I'm in Italy - I get some strange looks from the locals!......................maybe we both need help or maybe it's just the effect Italy has on us!
Ciao, Helen

Angie I had a wee search online to see if I could find anything. Niente. Any possibility you could scan one or two and upload them here???

Sally, would that I could! first we dont have a scanner and second you may remember Pigro having to take me step by step through the most simple of techie stuff!, But they are lovely photos I will ask Ricky if he might do it for us all.I think the book was printed privatley as a limited edition so not generaly available.

A friend of mine was almost lynched in Stresa market for photographing the 'large ladies pants and corsets' stall [He did it because he couldn't believe the size of them - apparently the pants looked like small tents!]
The stall holders thought he was working for the Tax Man.
Amazing, and my favourite one is of the Italian guy in Piazza Navona!!! Next life??? lol
