10056 Rome to Sansepolcro

I am possibly travelling from Rome via train to Perugia and then catching the train (I hope) to Sansepolcro. Are there plenty of trains to Sansepolcro? I understand the station there is quite small - don't want to be left stranded.

Can anybody help? Also debating whether to fly to Perugia and then get the train from there - is this possible?

I have the timetable but can't seem to work it out.

Check where it goes from - may not be the station you arrive at in Perugia.

.

Perugia airport is a little bit tricky for public transport - maybe someone else will tell you if there are any buses (into Perugia), but I haven't yet heard of any.

Alan is right - the fcu trains which go from Perugia up to Sansepolcro leave from Perugia's Sant'Anna station, and not from the main station at Fontivegge. However, there are plenty of buses which connect the two stations in Perugia - you'll probably have to wait only five minutes, and the trip is only another five minutes. If you have half an hour to kill, take the minimetro up to Pincetto from the Fontivegge station, and wander downhill through the Rocca to the Sant'Anna station.
