Myself and my partner are going to Modica for the weekend. Can anyone tell me the best route? What are your experiences? My journey planner suggests going to Lentini and through Buccheri. Is this an uphill ride?? We're only going for a couple of days and we don't want to be on the road all the time; any advice you can give me would be of great help...
Which ever route you choose, we would recommend doing what we did last Autumn in Modica, if you are chocolate lovers!
Extract.....On to Modica. We marvelled at the beautifully maintained countryside throughout Sicily and as we approached Modica the farmland appeared as neat and tidy, as a child’s picture book. Animals kept in square plots surround by dry stone walls. L’Antica Dolceria Bonajuto famous for chocolate was closed but Bar Rosy in Via Risorgimento 4, [/B]away from the centre, sold the most beautifully made marzipan fruits we ever saw but we didn’t know it at the time. Rosy looks like an ordinary bar but is worth seeking out. We regret not buying reasonably priced, sweet presents here. Another reason to return!
