10269 Groups

There are now some interesting groups, with a few regular posters but I don't think new members find them very easily.

I think that having the link above the main body of text makes it less likely that people who are unfamiliar with this site will find them, Would it be possible to put the link in the main body of the forum page, like ‘General Discussion’, so that it encourages more people to come and join in?

Though I know that tags are as little known and used as groups, perhaps tagging relevant posts in the main forum with 'Group xxxxx' might encourage interested readers of that post to go and visit the featured group. Just a thought.

You can also get to groups via the Quick Links menu - that's quite a useful feature, and pretty prominent.

It's a nice idea Charles but I think the tag system only links to the main forum and not to the 'groups 'section.

I think people miss seeing the headings and head for the main forum topics and sections so if there was a link that took you to Social Groups and it was in with the other forum sections it may not be overlooked.

There was such a song and dance about the new facilities, some heads even rolled in the run up to their unveiling, so it does seem a shame not to make the most of them and make them more obvious to newcommers to the forum.

Perhaps it is like the PM problems and can not be changed?

I agree with Nielo, to make groups a bit more visible will help.
