10329 Benessere in Italia

Hi everyone, we have just bought a house near Lago Trasimeno and spent a wonderful few weeks in our new home. We have been travelling to Italy for holidays for 10 years and finally realised it has become a life long love affair with the country and so bought ourselves a little place.

We love modern italian design, and we need some good modern italian art to put on the walls to turn it into a home, rather than a house. Does anyone know of any good artists near us or as far as Perugia, Arrezzo or Firenze? I saw a great wall installation, in a home, that was done in subtle soft hued lighting, almost painterly in its design, in a square shape like a picture, but have no idea who did it or where I could get it? There's a challenge for you, based on such a vague and inadequate description!
I am looking forward to swapping experiences of life in Italy

Welcome chiarablu. There's a very well known painter from Umbria, Giuseppe Fioroni who paints musicians, gypsies, clowns and dreamers amongst other things.! I attended a very large exhibition of his works a few months ago at The Italian Cultural Institute in London.

This is a link to his website - Giuseppe Fioroni

Welcome, Chiarablu and congratulations on the purchase of your home. Lake Trasimeno is a wonderful area. It is hard to give you advice as choosing the right paintings for a home is a very personal thing. I advise you not to rush and start visiting art galleries in your area until you find exactly what you want.

Some interesting things in this link may be of interest - especially those by Alberto Garutti.
