Okay it's bad enough me not really understanding economics but nevertheless I live in hope I might one day. Anyway I see it's stagnating in Italy and it's reckoned they too are going into a recession ..... The ANSA article - ANSA.it - News in English - Italian economy stalled

Sally, thanks for this........but I'm not sure whether you're agreeing with this, disagreeing with it or just spamming.

David I am hopefully opening a possible discussion amongst far more knowledgeable people in this respect here..

A valuable service.......thanks.

...on BBC, ITV news was saying it was expected that Germany, Britain and Spain would drop into recession (2 successive quarters of negative growth) whilst Italy was one of the countries expected to avoid it although growth there would only be around 0.5% to 1% (well below original targets). Also interestingly, today's news quoted domestic energy prices in the UK as being the highest in Europe ( and the least regulated) - interesting given all the scare stories we have had re gas, LPG and Electricity costs in Italy. To confirm that, -our last two Gas/Electricity price increases have both been within the last 12 months and each increase was in excess of 30%!
