Yes, she is rather a sweetie (and so is your mill house!). Unfortunatley the boring Yanks voted that a poodle would be the best dog for Barrack's children.....not that I have anything against poodles, but, c'mon...imagination lacking!

Speaking of the US elections.......did anyone see Russel Brand's comments on the subject?
".......some people, I think they're called racists, say America is not ready for a black president.....but I know America to be a forward-thinking country because otherwise why would you have let that retarded cowboy fella be president for eight years.
"We were very impressed. We thought it was nice of you to let him have a go, because, in England, he wouldn't be trusted with a pair of scissors."
Gosh, Russel all I can say is not in my name :laughs:
...................I reckon Barrack should get himself a couple of smoky black whippets to cavort elegantly around ..........
something entirely different came to mind when I read this.
. [but i hadn't read the article at that stage]

Thanks, Charles. I think that the vote of the Yanks had to do with the fact that the Obama children are allergic to animals. A poodle is a good choice in that case.

Surely Bush had a poodle.
.......or am I confusing it with our long departed, much loved PM?!?!?!

Can anyone tell me if the Italian media are covering the American Elections as much as the British ones are?
There have been four pages each day for five days covering the two conventions.
How interesting (not)

I would say that the print media here are not covering the elections much, but on the television news there is perhaps a 2 minute story every couple of days. (It is difficult to make head or tail of this coverage, since they don't completely mute McCain or Obama, and employ speed speakers from Napoli to run audio interference)

For an American it is interesting to me the amount of interest here in American politics, we are asked on a regular basis our views of the candidates. Unfortunately there is not much corresponding interest in the US for foreign politics (okay that brings up a lot of other issues too).
I regularly (almost daily) see articles in the papers here on US politics and have sine the primaries started. Sometimes I see stories/issues that I don't see being talked about in the US web media.
I'm the proud owner of one of those "hybrids" which are so fashionable in America right now: a Shorkie-Tzu (Shitzu X Yorkshire Terrier) and I would advise Obama to get to the next dog shelter, as we did, and try to get one. I found out that hybrids are the "in" thing now and they can charge you about 1,000 u$s for one of those mutts. I paid 100 euros to the shelter and this included vaccinations..... And we made a little dog very happy!
Just have a look at my album, isn't she adorable?
