We had out reception at the terrace of Hotel Forum. It was around €60/head, but that's going back nearly 10 years. You'd be pushed to find a city centre location for that today.
We recently attended a reception at the Casina Valadier - a really magical location in the Villa Borghese. Might be expensive though.
Thanks

Thank you for your posts so far. I think we looked at the Hotel Forum (looked at so many now I'm starting to forget who I've spoken with!). They were very pricey. I'll check out the other one you mentioned though. We are looking at a restaurant called L'Archeologia on the Appian Way. Have you heard of this? Helen

Hi Helen
I've been away from the forums for some time due to family illness so sorry for the very late reply to this.
If you still need some help, can you post again? We were married in Rome just two years ago so our prices won't be too far out. We had the reception at the Casina Valadier which wasn't as expensive as it looks! But also had a drinks reception beforehand at a little bistro nearby in the Borghese Park which was wonderful. They'd do a light meal, Valadier is more formal. Depends what you want really.
Anyway, let us know if there's anything we can still do to help with your wedding plans.
Best wishes
Cath.

Hi,
I think I posted to you reply on TripAdvisor but here's what I put just incase others want the same info:
We have just returned from a weekend in Rome as we are planning our wedding for 2009. You probably have already been on the la archeologia website Ristorante L'Archeologia - Via Appia Antica 139 Roma but our wedding planner did recommend this restaurant to us so I presume they are set up for wedding receptions.
She also recommended to us a restaurant called Ristorante Antica Dogana Antica Dogana Roma we never visited but it is by the river Tiber and has outdoor seating with nice river views.
We did visit The Hotel Quirinale which you might have already ruled out with it being a hotel and not a restaurant. But they have a lovely internal garden which has a pianist play into the evening. The indoor alternative overlooks the garden area with large glass windows so this was also a nice area incase of rain. Their menus start from 79 Euros per person which includes Aperativ, 4 course meal, wedding cake, coffee, 1/2 bottle wine per person and water. This also includes flowers on the table, print of menus, service and vat. Unfortunately it was already booked on the date we wanted it for!
Hope this helps and please contact me if you need any more info or the above menu emailing to you!
Congratulations and best wishes for the wedding!
