10430 I'm here...

...well actually, I have been for three and a half years. I live in Giovagallo in the hills of Lunigiana. I speak an excellent 'Janet and John' (remember those books?) Italian, mixed with a terrible local dialect. So, when I eventually get to Rome I will probably sound like a country bumpkin!

My husband is a forum member (Ghianda) and I have been increasingly jealous of his 'hogging' the computer and having to read things over his shoulder. So, I am announcing myself in my own right (bravo, I hear you cry!).

Quick important facts: I am a permanent Italian resident. I am a professional artist ([URL="http://www.evalock.moonfruit.com"]Eva Lock Art[/URL]), specialising in large abstract paintings.

I love the chesnut woods, the mountains, the wildlife and even the bugs. Lost interest in Heinz baked beans and Tetley teabags a long time ago. Only thing I hanker after is a decent bacon butty...

Your paintings are interesting - I [I]really[/I] like the 'Cones'. That IS unusual. But abstract art isn't quite my cup of tea (not even if it's not Tetleys...) - sorry!.

I do really like the paintings, especially the Africa ones....and can see how they would complement some of the lovely old restored houses we have in Italy, I think (and hope) you will do very well.

Thank you. Infact, I have just placed two of my artworks in newly restored houses here in Lunigiana. They look great - plenty of wall space to show them off. Thanks everyone for your very positive responses and for taking the time out to look at my website.

I am always on the lookout for a potential gallery to rent, or for an opportunity to exhibit so, if anyone 'hears' of anything please bear me in mind.

When the weather finally changes (dark evenings) I will start some appropriate threads in the 'Culture and Entertainment' forum.

There have been art and other exhibitions in the palazzo where we live. Not sure who organises it as it is privately owned. Events only happen in summer though. I'll ask if you like.

Short notice I know, but there's an event tonight, about 6pm. It's a poetry reading followed by a concert and apperitivi I believe (if it's not raining that is). The location is Palazzo Remedi, Ponzano Superiore, Santo Stefano di Magra. It'll be the last event of this year any way.

Oh, and the event last night was pretty much rained off. We ended up having a small private festa in our house with the concert pianist who was to perform joining in as well...
