I use RSS feeds from these sites:
-> ANSA.it - News in English
-> Italian Press Digest
-> ITALY Magazine Feed
-> Wandering Italy Blog (OK, a blog rather than news, but fascinating all the same)
.....but this might also help -> Italian Newspapers and News Sites

My suggestion would be for you to keep an eye on the following three websites:
1) ANSA
2) AGI
3) Corriere della Sera
You may well have come across the English language sections of these before now, but it is amazing how many people fail to look at the main parts of the websites.
As Carole B says, it can be hard to find unbiased news sources in Italy. Rather as it is hard to find unbiased news sources in the UK, really. One persons news is another persons propaganda, so it is much of a muchness, really.

Thanks Carole B, Tuscanhills and Nardini.
I appreciate that it is almost impossible to have a truly impartial news service. (What one group of people would consider to be 'impartial' could be 'grossly biassed' when viewed by a different group of people. I know the BBC are not infallible but generally they are good when compared to the majority of media in the world. [When viewed from my perspective, of course!])
I'm looking for something that A: Gives both sides to any story and B: Doesn't have scantily clad ladies on their homepage (I find it hard to take a news service seriously if this is the case)
I like to read/listen to/watch a story and then form my own opinion, rather than being force fed a story from a particular angle, which unfortunately seems to be commonplace on Italian TV news.
Thank you very much for the links and advice so far, I shall have a good look at the sources you have suggested.

Sorry Sally, I would have thanked you too but your message appeared when I was mid-pen with mine!
You might find this one useful:

This isn't owned/run by Mediaset, but alas, nothing :no: in Italy is impartial!
