Hi Gill. I wonder ..... If you like to click on this link you will understand why I question you. Italy - IKEA Group

You could always contact then and enquire though - About IKEA - IKEA Corporate

You don't need Ikea when you have Semeraro!!

Well looking at their website, yes you do!!! lol

No way better stuff at Semeraro their more Habitat!!

bought good corner setee from Semeraro in leather, and also got dining chairs there, good quality, and reasonably priced. Not easy to find anything on Sardinia unless you go to Cagliari for the big (and expensive shops) good shopping village outlet on same site - will be visiting again next time we are in Uras.

In the 2009 catalogue, that has just come out, there is no mention of Cagliari. The new branches listed for opening in 2008 are Parma & Rimini. Torino is due to move and become larger and there are 2 further stores planned for Salerno and Villesse (GO).

It's about time they had one in Pescara.

Just tried to look on the semeraro site but it says it is under construction. but i doubt it could get any worse than Conforama in Sassari , This place is so funny we occasionally pop in for a quick walk around and a laugh. It does make me think thou that Sardegna desperatly needs an Ikea because the prices sardinians are expected to pay, and for such tat is a discrace. I think some of these stores try to play on the 'captive market, island mentality' a bit to much. This is why we take all of our things from the uk and my mate manages a furniture store (which helps)

thank you everyone who replied. when in alghero in august 2008, although we did not see them ourselves, someone was handing out fliers advertising a new ikea (we understood this to be Cagliari) but we had already looked on all their sites and done quite a lot of searching and come up with nothing, only the fact that they have been discussing it in 2007. if any one gets any further idea, please let us know. Semerano sounds worth a look but Cagliari a long way to go on the offchance, anything nearer to alghero (I will try their website which hopefully has addresses).
thanks everyone

tried this already, they dont reply!

It's Home page not semerano.

The store is situated on the motorway from Alghero maybe 20 minutes north of Cagliari. If I can get hold of a any leaflets etc this weekend when were out there I'll see if I can forward them to you.

Hi Gill
have you headed into Sassari from Alghero? until you reach the (Priedda Niedda) turn off, that is where all the kind of stores you might be looking for are located, Like I said in the previous meassage , give Conforama a big swerve it is usless unless you want a washing machine or fridge something like that, when it is a bit cheaper than Euronics or UniEuro etc

yes we have - like you, find conforama missing something, cant put my finger on it. looking at the moment for a kitchen, got any ideas. . tried the big store in porta torres but a wee bit old fashioned and as my italian not brilliant, frightened off by some of the larger/swanky outlets in alghero.

have you had a look at the emmezeta web site they have a store down near cagliari, and sell kitchens along with all sorts of stuff for the home. Not sure on quality but maybe worth a look. Don't know it I have spelt the name correctly, but that it is somehting like that (they have a web site)

thanks for that - we are over in a few weeks time so may take trip down south and see whats available.
