Thanks for the reply, maybe you are right about Napoli apparently big problems
in the past between the clubs.
On the day of the match last sunday we instead decided to climb the 600 or so
arches that link Bologna to St Luca, what a climb....and what a view....we could see
the football ground on the way up to St Luca, and of course Bologna lost the match !!!.

is this some new FIGC plan to stop match day violence or has it always been this way i wonder?

Not sure if this restriction on buying tickets for visting neutral fans or otherwise has anything to do with FIGC, it seemed to apply to Emilia Romagna region so would this be a local decision ?.
Looking at the various football matches on Italian television it is plain to see lots of empty seats in some stadiums, certainly Bologna v Napoli had a large areas empty in the stadium
during the game, loss of potential revenue for the clubs ?.

i think the empty seats had to do with the size of each clubs ground as the clubs are owned by the local authorities so the clubs that rent them dont have any say on size reductions etc there all a set 50,000 seater unlike in England where the clubs own the ground ad the land so the clubs can reduce and increase there grounds accordingly, i know thats the case for ascoli anyway in terms of empty seats.
There was an issue with the Naples match on the 27/9 I see, but don't think this is for every game. Next visit try:

Still, nothing like the bureaucratic hoops I'm going through to play low level women's football. Apparently the authorities are worried about an influx of foreign players coming here and getting paid... they wanted to see my source of income!!!
