Welcome to the forum! Best wishes regarding your projects.

Yes a warm welcome. Look forward to hearing more about your project.

Hi and welcome. Have you bought a holiday home or are you full-time?

a quite bit more than a holiday retreat and somewhat less than permanent . We are planning to live in Lazio 3-5 months out of the year.

Welcome to Lazio! V sensible move to keep home in UK . How's the Italian doing? You have the opportunity to do lessons in UK in winter months. Strictly speaking if you have applied for residency then you have to stay the equivalent of 6 mths in Italy per annum but so far I have not encountered anyone counting! I am not a lawyer so the foregoing may be incorrect!
PS in case of dire need Conad in Termini station sell Heinz baked beans!

I'm lucky enough to live in Munich, just under 8 hrs by car to Ginestra Sabina. My Italian is improving, I take private lessons and that helps with the grammar and the vocabulary but I am looking forward to having my conversation practices with the locals. Although I'm somewhat apprehensive about dealing with the geometra and the crew. Will we be able to understand each other?

Welcome to the forum Mayolina.
Hope your project goes smoothly and you will soon be enjoying La dolce vita.

Benvenuta in Italia 'mayolina'.
The fact that you will be able to converse with your geometra and the crew will delight them, I bet. You will find that when you are faced with such situations then your learning rate will improve in leaps and bounds!

Look forward to hearing more as things proceed...

Hi mayolina

Hello! You're just a few km up the road from us. My wife and I have a house on the other side of the hills in Comune di Roccasinibalda, overlooking Lago del Turano...that's home really, though we both work in Rome.

We take our olives to be pressed at the frantoio Villa Falconi in Ginestra, and were married in May in Chiesa di Santa Vittoria just outside Monteleone in Sabino so know the area well. If you have questions about the area (BTW I know an excellent geometra based in Roccasinibalda), PM me and I'll try and help!

Cheers

We met the geometra from Casperia and 'his' crew. I hope the renovation will not break our bank account (we have a dreaded roof job) but regardless of anything, we love the region. People are friendly, food is great and we had a chance to taste the local olive oil. Anyway, I think we have got ourselves a great place, even though nobody has a key to our caldaia and no one seems to know what type of heating device (if, indeed, we have a one) is stored behind the iron door http://www.italymag.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif And thank you very much for your generous offer, it is lovely to know that we have friendly neighbours.

I admit freely, you have lost me http://www.italymag.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif
