We have no problems at all with the delivery of letters. Several times, a letter postmarked late in the day in Edinburgh has arrived less than 48 hours later. Letters posted in The Netherlands also arrive within a couple of days.
However, the local Poste Italiane driver who deals with parcels is either a total idiot or he's decided he's got something against us, because it's normal for parcels addressed in exactly the same way as letters to end up getting returned as "Undeliverable" when we've been home all the time.
I suppose we should just be grateful he hasn't appropriated the contents for himself and they have actually been returned.
So, in my opinion, Poste Italiane doesn't rock; it only does a sort of jerky polka.

Well okay. I sent a Christmas present to Italy last year, luxury mince pies from "Your M&S" It didn't arrive. Probably the smell of brandy was too enticing eh??? lol

I had two separate Amazon parcels returned to Amazon around last Christmas, marked as "undeliverable". It took a while to discover it, but the parcels had never actually left the UK for some reason. Although, we had another couple of parcels (again, Amazon) that took over 6 weeks to find us due to the strike in Malpensa last year. I can't blame the postal workers for that one (or, those two), really, can I.
It's odd...sometimes things are delivered in a day or so, then lo and behold a similar sized lettter can take days/weeks longer either way!
