The other artist Sally is called Osvaldo Licini, a contempory of Picasso I wrote about him in June, the exhibition in our village still goes on I believe until November, where you also get a tour of the house he lived in, we even have visitors from Rome to see it!

He too has a website - Osvaldo Licini - Website dedicato ad Osvaldo Licini ed alla sua arte Home page From what I see, in my opinion, I don't think he is in the same league as Picasso alas.
Wandering around the local village of Massa Fermana we bumped into the mayor who took us to see the painting by Carlo Crivelli in the church SS.Lorenzo and then on to see the paintings in the Palazzo Comunale by Vincenzo Pagini of the Nativity and of Giovanni Andrea De Magistris of the Resurrection, so a tiny village with no bar but world famous paintings!, Italy continues to fascinate.
It is possible to get the key from the comune in the mornings Mon to Fri.

It is always a great feeling to find those little gems that seem to be everywhere here in the Le Marche.
I had a feeling that another splendid artist might have been born in your village Angie. However having cnnducted a little online research, I don't think so after all.
The artist I have in mind is Pasquale Celommi who was born in 1851 and painted many scenes of figures at and scenes of the beach in Abruzzo. There has just been a huge exhibition of his works in Pescara which finished on the 19th October. I wonder if anyone here saw it.
