10752 Introducing Myself

Hi. This is my first message. I live in N Ireland and I am a recently retired schoolteacher. I took on the challenge of studying Italian and now have an A Level to my name. I am considering buying a property in the N.Lazio/S Umbria area but am concerned re. the plans to build an airport near Viterbo. Does anyone know what the likely flight paths are going to be?

way too soon to be able to predict accurately - the current airport is tiny (just military/private) and even if runway orientation remains the same I don't think there will be just one "corridor" within which all flights would pass in any case.

Suggest that if it concerns you sufficiently, you simply get your compasses out and draw a 20km radius "no go" zone around the current site, and focus your search outwith the bit that will be potentially subject to perceptibly annoying levels of noise. While you may still see aircraft outwith a 20km radius, I doubt that you'd hear it.
