We stayed at the Teatro Pace 33 but if you don't like climbing stairs forget it as there is no lift

In the guide books the centrally placed Hotel Navona gets praise but there is a secret...the same people have converted their huge family palazzo into a discrete hotel, so dicrete that you could miss the entrance. It's called Residenza Zanardelli in via Zanardelli. Ask for a quiet room. These look down on to a small "alley way". The hotel Lancelot, via capo d'africa near the colosseum can be recommended and was recently listed in the top 100 favourite hotels in the World despite its 3 stars and modest charges, however book in advance! I have no commercial interest in this hotel and accept no responsibiliy if it all turns to dust and ashes however I have stayed there, the furniture looks as though it was made for mussolini - superb!
