How do you report a spammed blog??? This also perhaps one - Italy Magazine Forums - mymirrors

Seeing as I have your pre arranged agreement - I'll call at 4 am - what's your number?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Sort of implied that didn't I. lol At 4 am??? Is that when the next lot of spamming here is then??? Okay. Try 08457 90 90 90. lol Ask for me. lol
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
I doubt I need that number - or that you are one! :laughs:
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Why have you since heard that the time for the new spam isn't until much later in the day when the naughty so and sos can get bigger audiences??? lol I am 1!!!
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
You're a Samaritan? Dream on Sally - you're just like me and spend far too much time here to be of any use elsewhere.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Strange response J+C. I never said I was a Samaritan, nor have I any desire to be one.

Not a strange response

I am isn't the same as I don't ever use a numeral to mean a word. I am 1 means number !. Just silliness. Time for bed. I need to recharge the batteries. Coodnight J+C

I know that this is only a joke but it is in extreme bad taste.
I sincerely hope no one phones this number on a whim and wastes the time of people who are voluntarily doing a difficult and worthwhile job.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
People here have enough intelligence to check the number on Google Nielo and it was obviously a private joke between J+C and myself. Additionally It also transpired quickly it was The Samaritans and in fact maybe someone in need benefitted from it shown here.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Personally I don't think the Samaritans is a joking matter and if it was a private joke perhaps it would have been better to keep it private.

You know you might be right.... But some of the things one reads on the internet sometimes could easily make you need the services of the Samaritans.
But I didn't know :nah: that was their number. So how many others didn't either?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Okay once again. As I said, the number from the very start of a Google search is stated as quite clearly The Samaritans. And within a post J+C stated it too. As I knew she would. No harm done whatsoever. It might have indeed helped someone.
Think about this logically too. Why would someone, (other than J+C) at 4 am, the agreed time) want to ring me anyway.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
So, tell me (moving quickly away from yet another "discussion"), does anyone know the number of the Italian equivalent of the Samaritans? Or even if there is one that anyone can telephone? Is the number common throughout Italy? Has anyone any experience of using it ... yet?
:)
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
'Hi Nardini Here's one - Telefono Amico Italia I found this on IFOTES - Welcome It looks fine to me.

(I'm wondering if this thread could be moved to a better place ..... )
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Actually to move on this has raised an interesting issue, there is no reason (I guess) why English speakers in Italy should not ring the English number should they need someone to talk to.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Ah Angie can that original number be dialled from outside Italy. I doubt it. So I wonder if the Italian equivalent has an English speaking counsellor on hand. Well if Enel or Italgas hasn't .....
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
However this leads on to the availability of resources in Italy to help stranieri perhaps .....
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
IMHO I very much doubt anyone who was feeling suicidal would be looking at a thread entitled Jirpy Jirpy Jeep Jeep, on Italy Mag Forum.
However having read it, the number might in fact be useful.
Wriggle, squirm and protest as much as you like Sally your intention was never to be helpful in posting the number of the Samaritans, you were yet again overstepping the mark and poking fun at something which just isn't funny - believe me.

The number CAN be dialled from Italy (00 44 8457 90 90 90), though as a premium number heaven knows how much it would cost. It should be free on Skype and be cheaper than a 'fixed line' via 'Skype Out' (€0.017pm).
I can't imagine - though hope I would be wrong - that any Italian equivalent to the Samaritans would have sufficiently adept English speakers to help a depressed (?) person!

Home--> Bookmark perhaps.
Sorry Carole, yes I see now that of course the number can be dialed from Italy. It actually is just the switchboard number. They in turn will tell you your local branch number which is just as ordinary one.
You can also:-
e-mail address on website
write to Chris
P.O. Box 90 90
Stirling
FK8 2SA
or visit
your local branch

Samaritans isnt actually about just talking to people because they feel suicidal Neilo, though this may be their prime concern, they will listen to anyone who is troubled, and cannot or will not talk to friends or family, so actually Sally has raised an interesting topic, especially for people possibly away from their normal support group., who "should" be happy because they live in Italy. There is no right or wrong way when you are troubled and possibly this thread has helped some people?

Just by chance we spotted a samaritans office in P S E yesterday, the next time we are there I will take a note of the number and post it here.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
There is another thread entitled ‘samaritans It might make the number easier for people to find if you post it there.

Hi Nielo

In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Ah.....now the thread has been edited it might be worth transferring the useful information from Charles Phillips which is in the other thread ‘Samaritans', the that thread can be removed to save further confusion?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Now I know that it is an attempt to be helpful but when I posted I never put the word Samaritan in bold. I find it a bit disturbing that posts have been edited and that there is no note of this having happened.
Does this mean that Moderators are able to alter posts without leaving any trace?

I rather suspect that is the case Nielo, but not just with editing! :veryconfused:
On 'another' thread some heavy handed comments were posted by a moderator about my confrontational (?) behaviour... the problem was subsequently 'sorted', in a manner of speaking, via two PM'S (which I didn''t like, as this, to me, smacked of a hidden deal being brokered, when I felt I had NOT been disrespectful in any way).
But following these PM's some four (I think) posts disappeared without trace from that thread. Now I know it wasn't me... I don't like deletions either). So I can only conclude that your comment is correct and for that reason I will be very careful what I choose to post in future!
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
The big problem with this is that no one will know if what we read was actually what was posted or whether it has been altered.
Even if I keep a copy of everything I post...just in case... it still leaves the position that someone can say 'that's not what I posted’ and the mods would have a heck of a job proving that they had not altered it.
I always thought that the ‘this post has been edited by….’ Was a form of protection from any kind of duplicity but if it is possible to alter posts without showing they have been altered………
Well…..not a good situation at all!
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
I see it has now been re-re-edited so that all the bold Samaritans have been returned to normal.
Is someone playing mind games?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Hi Nielo
I agree .
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Oh dear!!!
Now to eat a great big piece of humble pie.
Abject apologies to all for getting my knickers in a twist.
I realise now that I viewed this thread using the search facility, which puts the search word in bold so no one had surreptitiously edited at all.
Mia culpa, mia culpa, mia maxima culpa.:notworthy:

Brava, Nielo. It takes a big man to admit even an honest mistake - as that was. :)

Well I don't like the way this thread was split from the original about spamming and dumped here. Spamming and Samaritans - two different subjects. The Admin could have simply deleted all the silly meaningless drivel between J+C and myself.

Sal, we're *part time* admin!
Also you could just have not posted it.....so, what's done is done. If you are having problems dealing with it, you might want to call someone.....oooooh ek! Did I really say that??!?!?!?!
