There is nothing on Astra BUT if you buy a cheap digi receiver and 60cm dish on ebay or similar and point your dish at the hotbird satellite there are scores of free Italian channels - Rai 1,2,3 , educational, government, regional channels, Puglia, Sicilia etc. There are about 10 channels in english and 20 in French plus the rest in Hungarian, Polish, German, Portuguese etc. Great for honing the language skills.
In my caravan here in Wales I have one TV for Hotbird and the other for Sky to save plugging and unplugging.

Thanks to cardi & oneto15. I have tried the euronews option and that seems a useful idea..I eventually managed to get the web based ones to work and may give that a try . Thanks for the info on the astra but I'm not sure I want another dish on the chimney.
There is an Italian film around at present Caos calmo (Quiet Chaos) which i saw last week which was pretty good, though I did tend to rely on the subtitles!
Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer, much appreciated

On this website Rai.it - Home Page there are the news and videos of some italian programs.
I hope to be of help to you.
Ciao
The only way, that I know, is to change the language setting on Euronews channel 508 and you will listen to the news in Italian.
Ciao
