10833 Geometra in Subbiano area

We are seriously looking at a property in the Subbiano commune (Casentino valley). Does anyone know of a reliable geometra in that area. Preferably someone who can speak some English, and is happy working with someone who intends to self-build.
The English is important. We are learning Italian. During a discussion with the agent we understood many of the answers before they were translated, nevertheless it was still useful to be certain that he was understanding our questions, and we were understanding his answers.

You are asking rather a lot - to find a geometra who speaks pretty near perfect English (because that is what you are going to need if you are going to go the 'self-build' route) and who is also willing to deal with a foreign self-builder!

I agree that it is asking rather a lot, but misunderstandings on technical terms could cause some real difficulties. But we did discover in the Orvieto area one who had a member of staff who was excellent at English, and who knew enough about building to be able to liase with the geometra. But Orvieto is really to far away for us to use them.

why looking for a geometra, when you should be looking for an architect? They are not more expensive, as most people think, and they are likely to speak better English. see: architect or geometra? - it may help
