Not fair Ricky and to call him a plod when he rescued an older lady in distress, and he was wearing that rather nice uniform with the red stripe down the leg, and he had a gun!, well the answer to all our dreams! Dream on ladies must get distressed and lost more often.

Now tell me Carole, how on earth did you manage to work out that STFU is naughty and yet you cant work out what FFS means? I don't think you're quite as innocent as you'd like us all to believe!
Come on admit it - you're an undercover MFI, aren't you? :laughs:

Yes STFU came to me a little while ago while I was dozing in the hot sunshine ... is it really November 1st or did somehow the year get set back to September?
RTFM - something techno geeks rarely do - read the ..... manual

In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Forked up beyond all recognition.
(A commonly used expression in the US Navy when I was a member.)

In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
FUBAR has a cousin called SNAFU
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
That one goes back to at least WWII – "Situation Normal: All Forked Up".

I'll let you into a little secret if you promise not to tell anyone -
I took a leaf out of Sal's book and 'Googled' FFS and came up with >THIS< ! Now the problem was - which one to choose????
But with STFU it only gave ONE definition, so I was OK...
I will admit to being an MFI (I think), as I am, at times a bit like an MFI product - even if I say so myself..... that is:

I have a home made music tape (shows how old it is) that I called FUBAR - ah happy daze!
Carole - I had a very strong feeling you may have taken a leaf out of Sally's book, but the MFI I'm talking about is certainly not the place where you can buy that rubbish flat pack furniture. Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to decline to keep quiet - and allow you the good grace to do exactly the same - although I doubt that it would be Earth shattering news to the vast majority if the secret accidently slipped out.
Lets see what other acronyms we can find before any of us need an IFAK.

What's wrong with plod. Where I used to live (nr P****y) modplods were very common.
Incidentally 'innocent' is one word I'd never have used to describe CaroleB ;-)

Sally, it's a well known insult - I think it was a Psychiatric Doctor who created it as a code for his less intelligent patients and it became well known as a 'secret' way to tag a stupid person.

Its what doctors used to/ still do write on patients notes when there not the full sandwich:eerr::wideeyed::eerr::wideeyed:
