10879 advertising from italy staff

I completely agree with deborahandricky's objection here, why on earth is this allowed?:no::no:

I think it would be a shame if the distinction between user-generated content and editorial advertising became blurred. It might also make a lot of work for the Mods, deleting advertising from other people who thought they could copy it.

Not least that the forum just isn't the place for it. An ad is an ad is an ad, and it's annoying to come across full stop, no matter where it originates from. What next, advertisers can pay to post ads in the forum? :eerr: It certainly doesn't add to the quality of the forum, does it?

Sorry if coming across a bit grumpy but I was just amazed at this new development - I was all ready to delete the offending post until I saw who it was posted by!

sorry - but you can't bloody win can you. Carla chooses properties on her own - the people in question are not even advertisers. Cristiana linked to it because she thought the comment on price was interesting (if anything against the advertiser) but everyone is still happy to complain...

it does look like an advert though, even if it isn't and really makes the forums look shoddy, you can't deny that. Had Cristiana said "what do you think about this comment - discuss", it might have come across differently.
I offer my time for free, when available, to keep the forums clear of this stuff, after all, as we all do. It seems strange that the management then start adding to the debris. That's all.

I think a lot of other things make this forums far more shoddy - in any case - I get your point. Will avoid such direct links in the future so as not too upset.

:laughs:
well... yes, of course - this is obviously the least of your worries! :laughs:

Chaps - I do think that there is a lot here which is language related! We (mainly) are English speaking, and in this context, it appears that language may be part of the challlenge. Goodness knows how many fopars and insults I have managed in my very pool Italian and English actions in Italy - so I do think there is some slack to be cut here - even though the appearance was very concerning.
