10915 Old Italian Postcards

A friend of mine near Sulmona was given as a birthday present request, a vintage postcard of her Italian home village. It was found on e-bay.it and she plans to have it framed.

I've just typed in Bagni Di Lucca, a place I stayed in for a couple of nights a wee while ago Lo and behold myriads of scenes of the town in former days. Cheeky eh??? lol

When I am in an Italian town for a few days "break away" I look for second-hand book shops where old postcards can be found. I have some treasures from Trieste, old cards of Perugia found in Ascoli etc. These can then be sent as greeting cards to both Italian and English friends, I even found one of Iraq!

A local foundation in Barga produced a great book called "Barga in cartolina" which has a history of postcards from the town from the very first ones right up to recent times.
199 pages of a visual history of the area.
