Hi there
Anyone got advice on which would be better for us (husband, wife & 2 young children) to stay in/near on Sardinia for January & February? We usually go very rural but this winter fancy being near some sort of town life and I've been reading a lot about Cagliari & Alghero. I also read that a lot of Sardinia, outside of the local commercial areas, closes down for the winter months and we don't want to end up being too isolated.
Thanks in advance.

Many coastal towns can be totally closed during winter. We have driven through whole towns north of Tortoli totally closed up including super markets and banks. We will be back in December our area is at least a working village/town so plenty going on still but,yes try and stay close to the cities the roads are good so you do not need to be too close.
