Prosecco. Some brands are very good and it's got bubbles which tend to lift up your morale. Plus champagne is not appropriate for recession times. Or perhaps it is......

Recent actual indulgence??? A gorgeous overly long perhaps , chunky, textured multicoloured but predominately red, knitted/woven scarf "Made in Italy" What I really hanker after is a red wool coat though ..... oh and small sized simple Italian black lined leather gloves. Fingers crossed so as to speak. My birthday is soon!!!

Living in Italy, what I wouldn't cut down on is entertainment. But it is nearly free anyway - going to eat in a local festa (if it is a very extravagant festa!) will cost ten euro, band and dancing thrown in. A far cry from Annabels!!
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Angie cut out the fags and you could probably afford the cheese!!!

My indulgence is the stimulation of intellectual discussion and debate… but that costs nothing so I wouldn’t have to give it up… would I?::eerr::nah:

Not on this forum Neilo, and it has as an indulgence the beauty of not making you fat either.!

I quite like the idea of being tagged as enigmatic. Long may I continue to perplex you Sal! :laughs:
Actually, the answer was 10,000,000,000,000,000 - so I guess Alan was the closest. Now, if 10,000,000,000,000,000 is the answer - what is the question? (Not a trick)

Oh, what a beauty it is, and the currency exchange rate is so rotten that I can not afford to buy one.

I believe this thread was started with good intentions. It got some tongue in cheek answers, veered wildly off topic, but was nevertheless a mildly amusing distraction until this post I quote here.
I have reported it to the powers that be and I hope something is done about it, either to delete it because it is rude and unnecessary or for the thread to be moved into the Circolo. It does not sit comfortably in the ‘General discussion about Italy’ section anyway.
I also wish that people would let past be just that ..the past.

Right now a bottle of that truly delightful plum rose English wine I have just sampled in Wholefoods. Is it made in Italy too does anyone know???
