"I understand that some British agents are trying to sell apartments in Monzone"
Do you have any details on these apartments Gala - thought I was aware of all the property for sale around that area but these seem to have slipped by me.
Spent a few days hillwalking close to Monzone in the Summer and would consider buying a small place there if the price was right.
Love Monzone

Hi Jax
Am new to the forum, first look today and jumped straight to your post when I saw Monzone!
My husband and I have been travelling to Lunigiana for holidays for many years, we love it, but we love the 'real Italy', totally unspoilt by tourism. We have stayed near Monzone several times, it is just a great little work a day Italian town, not big, with a really fantastic restaurant, genuine, genuine great Italian food. One of the biggest plus points is the railway station with trains to Lucca several times a day, great.
It may be worth you contacting hello Italy, Villas in Tuscany. Rental of self-catering holiday villas and apartments in Italy. Tuscany, Florence, Siena, Chianti, Lunigiana and Umbria. Houses and hotels. Agriturismo and cottages., or com, can't remember which, the company we always book our accommodation through, he specialises in self catering properties in this area.
Let us know if you are successful, would always be interested in renting aproperty in this area, it's not il Gepetto is it by any chance, been wistfully looking at this one on the net for a while!

Hi Sue , for a first post I cannot decide if you are advertising or not, which is frowned upon on this forum, no doubt someone will make a decision.

Sorry, Galway Girl, I do not have any precise details. A couple of months ago other members of the forum contacted me through a PM requesting information about the Bagni di Lucca area and they mentioned that they had also been offered some apartments in Monzone through a British company. That's all I know.

Hi All
Sorry, certainly no advertising intentions!, I didn't think of that aspect of it at the time, just thought it was a web-site that contained some useful info on this lovely area which may be of help to someone thinking of buying a property there, or just visiting.

Galway Girl, if you do a Google search using the words "Monzone property sale" you get some ads for apartments.... even a link to this thread.
I found this for you, I hope it will help:

I know the Apuane area although I have never visited Monzone. It is not a very well known spot, so, if you are looking at renting the place, you may have difficulties.
My advice is to go personally and visit the area plus other areas in the same region and compare. Check how busy it is outside the holidays period and be very careful, as there is a lot of property for sale in Italy right now.
I understand that some British agents are trying to sell apartments in Monzone. But, above all, have a very good look at all properties within the region and your price range before making any moves. It is a buyer's market right now and you must endeavour to get good value for money.
Best wishes,
