10935 Satellite tv in Abruzzo

Hi everyone me and my family made our long awaited move to Abruzzo and after 2 months of ups and downs we are finally enjoying life here. The other evening after a discussion of what we are missing from the UK, I came up with 2 that hopefully you can help me with,

1. Indian curry ! I did not each much in England but now I cant find anywhere I am really mising it !

2. English TV, I am not an addict but I am really missing it, maybe it is just because I am sick of watching dvd's on my laptop !!!!!

We finally bought a tv but dont know what to do now, should I buy Italian sky? is it worth it or should I stick with a freeview sat. I bought a sat which says i can pick up a 1000 channels but I am guessing most will be of no use. I am not a major addict but I am missing some BBC and ITV shows (not coronation st or Eastenders !!) also CH4, is there any way of getting these, I have looked at other forums re. the astra 2d signal but it seams as though this is a no go.

Should I buy sky ?
SHould I stick with the freeview ?

I dont want to have to buy a lot of equipment and suspend a 30m dish from a balcony, just an easy way of seeing a little decent tv.

Anyway I hope you can help and I must say Abruzzo is a fantastic place to live and hopefully a fantastic place to bring up my 2 kids.

Hi Dave

I'm in Abruzzo too and I know what you mean about Indian curries. I am on another forum where the members are all pretty local and we have some superb cooks. Some of us live here full time but others come and go to holiday homes and bring all the curry ingredients with them.

Only a week ago a load of us met up for a fantastic, scrummy curry night/ Lots of good food and swapping experiences and advice. A fun evening!

As for TV. I will pm you with a link to all the information you should need.

It's great here in Abruzzo and I am sure you will continue to enjoy living here with your family.
