Interesting comment:
seems a bit steep pricewise. And a new build. Where's the history. We have a villa bought last year, same layout, plus a casolare (again, loads of history).

Please, let's not make Puglia another Spain. It is so lovely. Why go for a new built when there are so many lovely, and I mean lovely, period villas to be had with olive groves, neighbours to look after the land when you cant be there, etc.
Certainly, €260,000 seems incredibly expensive for such a small (2 bedroom) place - even more so as property in Puglia is not selling to Brits at the moment. Just ask any of the estate agents that are actually based in Puglia - they will confirm this quite readily. Now, if this were a Russian website, it might be a bit different... but they are all buying from Mr Luckoni in Calabria, aren't they...

I think it is impossible to comment on the price given the available information.

That consists of half a photograph of the house, completely wthout context, no indication of square meterage, no suggestion of amount of land or garden. It has got (including the annex) three bedrooms, and three bathrooms, two living rooms and kitchen, so it doesn't sound too tiny! The exterior stonework looks well built - and maybe in the printed magazine there are more photos including interiors.

Where did Nardini get the message he quoted? I can't find it in this thread, nor does it show up as a deletion. Strange.

EDIT: Sorry - I have found the message on the page linked to.

The property is also featured in December's 'A Place in the Sun' magazine that I happened to buy in Sainsburys a few weeks ago.

It is on with a different agent but is obviously getting a lot of publicity - in the magazine the price is given as E280,000. The person viewing gave it a 7/10 score feeling that the rooms were a bit small.

I too am confused as to where Nardini got his quote - cannot even find a member of that name.

Thanks Torch - found it.

Good luck with the move - hope the dogs are OK. Perhaps see you in Puglia.
Might be a bit late, We bought an Italian magazine ( in Italian) when we were in Puglia in mid Oct, The magazine was about tourism in Puglia and Baslicata.
One of the main stories inside was entitled "Pugliashire" even though the whole article was in Italian,... thought it was only Tuscany that was nicknamed "Chiantishire" by the Italians, but now we have it in Puglia-shire as well.
As an aside.... the article was about all the people buying in Puglia, from Mick Hucknell though Helen Mirren, Jim Carey, Amanda Lamb and scores of other celebrities, some whose names I know, and many whom I don't, down to the droves of lesser mortals all packing up sticks and translocating down south to Puglia.
I have to agree that certain parts have become very popular with the Brits. When looking for property in Puglia we had a look at San Vito dei Normanni (where the new build mentioned above is situated) because we wanted to understand what the attraction was. I have to admit that before we even saw the town we were put off by Italians in the more northerly Itrian Valley calling it San Vito dei Inglese, Is this a fair label, I suspect not, but clearly the town is/was heavily advertised to the UK market and therefore as demand grew the builders capitalised on it and with such low land values, new builds can be far more profitable than restoration.

Anybody interested in a quick purchase of 2 bedroom renovated villa in Torre Chianca, new kitchen, new bathroom, air-conditioned, electric gates, near sandy beach let me know. It belongs to the sister of a friend of mine (Italian) who has to move. She has it on market for €80,000 but I think will take €70,000. It's a good deal.
And before you all shout at me, I have nothing to gain on this ...... except helping a friend, and it is a really sweet deal if anyone has ready funds. Unfortunately we don't - bloody stock markets and credit crunch, otherwise we would buy it ourselves

very timely, do you have any further details TB?

Been sold - a steal at 60,000. I do know of another one being sold by a friend who is going back to Ireland, pm me if you want details

We were in one of the shoppling complexes recently, either Carrefour or Auchan, near to Brindisi and we met an English couple who live just outside San Vito dei Normanni. He was singing its praises and commenting on how great it was to live in close proximity to over 200 english families! Reminded us of why we didn't buy in San Vito or Ostuni area!
