11132 General strike on this Friday, 12 Dec 2009

I believe that there is to be a general strike in Italy this Friday. Here in little ol' Umbria where we live, this tends not to affect much, but transport could be affected all over the country and some banks, shops and so on closed.

Alas, even Moderators can't edit titles - only the Tooth Fairy can do that. The odds are pretty good that there be one then anyway. Hey, with a bit of luck, it might even be a Friday too!

Probably not. Its mainly the state sector who go on strike.

I spoke to my courier agents in Milan, they said that about 50 percent of flights are OK, companies are open , but goverment offices may or may not be, so no real change there LOL

There were no trains and our village post office was closed (though PO in nearest bigger town was working normally) but otherwise it was business as usual.
