As I am not at home I couldn't watch either but I do have "A Good Woman" on DVD and love it. As for "A Short Stay in Switzerland" the other half just told me how marvellous and moving it was and I'm sorry he didn't record it for me. :frown:
Oh well, I'll look forward to the repeat then if look forward is the right term in this case.

Is there nothing this actress can't do? Her performance in this tragic story was incredible. .........
For those of a 'certain age' - Julie Waters was as good as Patricia Hayes in 'Edna The Inebriate Woman' - i.e. superb!

I don't remember that one Alan - though I'm sure I fall into that 'certain age' category...
Aren't we lucky to have so many wonderful actresses to listen to and see?
You may remember the Talking Heads series by Alan Bennett... they were wonderfully poignant too.
Anyone remember this one by Thora Hird (this is just Part One from You Tube) but it's a great 'lead-in' to what is a wonderful monologue

Is there nothing this actress can't do? Her performance in this tragic story was incredible. I was reduced to tears throughout. The subject matter was so current and thought provoking. It has - of course - been discussed so much recently. Everyone as their own thoughts on the rights and the wrongs of such actions, but when you sit and watch such a moving portrayal of the actual details of what it 'could' be like - it makes you think.
Supposing it was me - or one of mine? What would I do - how would I behave?
Well I DO know, but I wonder how many others have gone so far as to come to terms with what they might do...
Though a bit different, on a local (Italian) front it now seems that a clinic in Piemonte is willing to help Eulana - 17 years in a coma - too... I do so hope they will!
