Gas burner and other gas appliances is a highly valuable consumer product. Since cooking can not be done without gas appliances, gas regulators, gas lighters, gas pipes, and gas stoves are essential requirement for any home.

I brought my Baumatic cooker with me from the UK and had no problem changing the jets to Italian GPL but I am having a huge problem hooking it up to towngas (which I think is metano and so is a different pressure).
The cooker was actually made in Italy so I assumed I'd have no problems but currently I only have 2 rings out of 5 working at very low pressure. The kettle takes ages to boil.
Luckily, Baumatic have a service centre here in Italy so they are my next stop as none of the local suppliers have been able to help.
I would say if you are buying new to bring over then don't bother (unless you buy ariston or smeg which are made here in large numbers) but if you already have it, then check to see if the manufacturer has a service centre before bringing it.

in the uk it is a breach of the gas safety regs to modify or connect a gas burning appliance of any kind without proper qualifications and registrations. i would also say that similar regulations are in place in italy( i have been a gas engineer and safety inspector in the uk for 30 years). messing around with something you know nothing about is sure to end up in a dangerous situation and may be liable to prosecution. eg. the oven blowing open when you light it.

All done by the plumber - don't worry
I can't imagine any problems with the pipework (gas thread the same as in the UK). So long as the hob is supplied wth the jets for UK lpg (gpl) any minor differences in the gas composition should be manageable through the regulators. Do make absolutely certain (open the box!) that lpg jets are either supplied with the hob, or that the lpg jets are already fitted.
