12098 Where are EasyCar in Fiumicino?

Any tips on picking up a car from EasyCar at Fiumicino airport? (I've never been in the airport before.) My reservation says Floor 5, Multistorey C, so do you actually go there directly?

(No, I wouldn't have picked "Easy" by choice, but it's a very busy period.)

[FONT="Verdana"]All the car hire desks are more-or-less together in the car-park building just off the airport building, very close. You queue-up, (or not if you are lucky) do your paperwork & they give you the location of your car in the m/s car park. Then you go and find it. (This is Europcar anyway)
Then you go back to the desk & point out all the extra marks & damage they have not noted on your paperwork & the fact that the tank is not full. They usually sign this off without even verifying, so they are quite used to it!
You will probably have to insist that they inspect the car when you return it too, otherwise....
Make darn sure you remember where to return the car to as you leave Fiumicino as there are several confusing signposts on the way back.

Once outside you are fine, just choose the correct direction on the GRA and it is easy. When you come back remember to follow the signs for "Aeroporti" & then Fiumicino airport otherwise you can find yourself at Ciampino

hi its all clearly labelled, Chris is right there is just 1 big car park alocated to rental cars.. Surprisingly the airport is fairly straight forward..good luck Are you touring Lazio?

Many thanks for the advice. I hope it's all smooth on Friday.

I'm staying a night in Casalotti, off the ring road, (booked the hotel on Venere.com) and then continuing to Umbria on Saturday.

There aren't any better flight options from Belfast or Dublin to Italy. I have done Belfast-Stansted-Italy a few times, but the times from Stansted are now too early to catch without an overnight stay. (Oh, and easyJet cancelled their Belfast-Ciampino route, although I think Belfast-Venice is still going.)

p.s. I've already had to suffer the jokes about easyCar charging extra to put luggage in the boot etc.

I've never used them so let me know how you get on. have a nice break.

We used Fiumincino for the first time last year and it was a bit of a hike to ge to the desk to check in for the car. There were times whenw e thought we'd gone wrong but we hadn't. The cars are located as part of the mutli-storey and watch out for cars returning as some of the gates for incoming cars ahve very tight corners.
