Here, Here, I agree.
I have been a member of the forum now for quite a few months and have gained some quite useful information and read with interest many humorous, inteligent, and informative posts.
I do feel that the forum has been diversifying "off track" recently, many times going into petty arguments and squables that are, just not what this forum is about.
Personally, i wouldnt get involved with the needless moans  and would prefer to stick with the forum's social, informative and helpful qualities.
Cheers - Nigel
PS - Has anyone found a Scooter yet?

Great idea! Let's give the negativity a rest. I've decided to try to ignore any of the posts dealing with moderation issues and use the forum for what it does best - exchange of information.
On the positive note see the link below to the Happy News!

You're saying prayers to the devils, I say. wo-oh-ooh!
Why not help one another on the way?
Make it much easier. (just a little bit easier)
Say you just cant live that negative way,
If you know what I mean;
Make way for the positive day,

I really do like that idea of positive posting. but how does it work? do we ignore anything that could be considered a negative post, in other words no bad news what so ever, or is bad news OK but one then has to put a positive spin on it? Although is spin not in itself a negative approach and so unworthy of mention?
I really am trying to see how this positive post thing would work, are drugs involved? otherwise cannot see it fitting in with what this site represents, good honest on the mark data..with both positives and the negatives where Italy is concerned.somehow cannot see PP being able to fit in. Example. The earthquake we all know hit Italy...How do we do a positive post, without mentioning the real facts and damage involved.Seriously how do we do a positive post where a disaster is concerned.Without first doing a post that cannot be positive in nature!
Do we not mention a disaster at all, therefore saving ourselves a negative post? or do we somehow look on the bright side, like be thankful we are OK.or remark how it could have been worse! is that positive posting or mere self relieve or worse..?
Nope sorry, will stick to posting how i see it, good or bad..positive or negative depending how i see it......

I don't think that the idea was to start posting all positive things. The way I see it is to counterbalance all those negative feelings that have been going on. We can still post whatever we want through as many threads as we wish to start. Many of them may be controversial and there could be discussions, which is good and healthy, providing they are self-moderated.

I do see what you are saying Gio and you have a good point, of course not all things are good news, bad things happen, I think what I was trying to highlight, although Positive Posting might not have highlighted this too well, is a positive "attitude" in our dealings with others on the forum and a positive way of interacting with them, and trying to respect their viewpoint even if that isnt maybe one we would hold. And not to take the p*** if someone writes something we might think is silly or stupid.
A responding to others and their posts and comments in a helpful and positive way, maybe illustrates my point better. Does that help?

Yeah!!! - 'Way to go'!
'Positive Posting' is an excellent idea. That way we can cater for those who would rather not put people on their Ignore list, or read disconcerting news, but are never quite sure which threads will contain such matters. This way they will know.
I know very well that I have been guilty of unwelcome posts recently, and I can only apologise for feeling that certain questions really DID need answering. But I do hope that those of you who found my persistence both boring, and yawn inspiring, will allow me (I cannot/will not speak for others) to retain the right and just a little corner of the forum where, should any bias or discrimination be noted, I won't be pilloried for standing up and trying to stop it.
I love :wubclub: the fun threads as much - if not more than most, and the information threads. I've done enough free translations for members here to demonstrate, I think, that I do have something more than moans and groans to offer.
So with just that tiny appeal I say:

:smile:Hi Angie and Robert
I dont think anyone will disagree with you that positivity is preferable to negatively but it is very difficult to maintain in any society; folk and their problems will always get in the way.
For now, my head hurts from banging against the admin. door once too often asking for the earthquake sub-forum (nicely, I think), so will be taking a break from that.
I had tried to follow the Chinese saying that:
"You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar".
I failed!
However, let's hope that friction and the causes of friction are reduced to a minimum, this used to be a more agreeable place.

Having been bitten on the bum (so to speak) by "bhuddisty guru type" folk, you can keep your flies. I 'll try to ask a positive question.
Yep you guessed it. Will there be a solidiarity/ earthquake fund raising section that will not impinge on the "normal" posts?

Carole, I appreciate your posts although, as you said, you became a bit ... let's say difficult, recently. It was all due to stress and frustration, which can happen to any of us. I would like to see you in the new place. Cheer up!

Some years ago I attended a company meeting for senior managers, which on this occasion was being led by our new head of HR (Human Resources), an individual with more academic experience than either life or, work experience. Now well into her stride as she lectured (and I use that word deliberately) her more world weary workmates, at the top of her voice she cried; 'let's have an attitude check'. One of my then colleagues seated in one of the darker recesses replied 'I hate this f***ing waste of my time'!!
No,No, she cried 'I mean let's have a positive attitude check'.
'OK then' replies the hero of the hour quick as a flash, 'I'm positive that I hate this f***ing waste of my time'!! Will that do? And promptly walked out accompanied by a goodly number of his colleagues.........
