Perhaps crazy if you are wanting to work out here, but certainly not for wanting to live here... A bit money behind you, enough as back-up to tide you over for a few years and you could find it possible. It can be cheap to live here if you have a bit land, fit in and adjust to Italian life. However you need to think long and hard about such a big move and how, if ever needed, you could back out of it.... Best of luck whatever you decide...

I almost moved to Italy in 2007 from San Diego.  I now wish sometimes I did. Go with your heart and maybe work online.  If you feel connected in spirit it's hard to live anywhere else.
