Dear Sonia,Hello from Madison, CT USA. A good friend of mine alerted me to your post and I felt compelled to reply immediately. My name is Adrienne. I am originally from California but now live on the east coast about mid-way between New York and Boston. I have two sons ages 8 and 5. My husband and I love showing the world to them. This past July we were in Barcelona for a month. My little one is eager to visit Italy and asked me to take him next summer. That's why when I saw your message I thought I would introduce myself. I have visited Italy several times and both my parents spent a few years of their retired lives living there. My mom was in Firenze and my dad in Citta di Castello. I speak Spanish fluently, speak and understand some Italian and am currently taking French lessons with my sons. I hope we can get to know each other. Warm wishes,Adrienne

Congratulations to both Sonia and Adrienne! This comes from a retired teacher of modern languages who used to conduct pilot courses for young children in unlikely places. You are bringing up children who are better educated, even in their native tongue, have wider horizons and culture and who will be citizens of the world. Children's brains are like sponges and they learn naturally what takes years and much more efforts to the adults. I only wish that many parents will copy your example. Well done!
