Can't help you! Like so many times in Italy you follow signposts (and there are a fair few to Lerici golf) and just when you think you're on the doorstep the signs disappear! I'm driving over in a couple of weeks with my 'spare ' (ie old and rusty) set of clubs so, come the autumn, may have more information. There's a new course in Pontremoli (which uses a picture of Tiger Woods to advertise itself!). Have you tried that (i haven't yet)?

Thanks for the info. Have been on their site, Googled maps and directions, etc. and just cannot find the place. On Google Earth I can see the course but "on the ground" cannot locate it. Their website has a lot of info except for a map showing how to find them. BTW, did I read that you are headed for San Francisco? I am a No. Californian and my dad was born and raised in SF.Fred

Your husband is very perceptive! I'm not surprised that Percy B Shelley wanted to live there. Have you been to mad 'Anna's' restaurant (The Little Oasis)? 7 item fixed menu for €19 including wine - fantastic and crazy. She dragged us into the kitchen so we could watch her make the Gnocci for us which her husband Mario then cooked. She refuses to have a wine list (you drink what you're given!) which is why she doesn't have lots of stars etc
Good tip, Cinghiale. Thank

I once went in the Bay of Lerici. It's a wonderfu area! I really enjoyed walking in the little port. Had also a bath - but still prefer the southern beaches....I thought it belonged to the Riviera Ligure..are we talking about the same "Lerici"?Cinghiale: thanks for your restaurant suggestion!
LERICI AND PORTO VENERE

These are the two last towns at the southeastern end of the "Riviera di Levante". Both beautiful towns. They are at the border between Liguria and Tuscany. Wonderful places, but then.... the area is pure magic. You can also go by boat to the Cinque Terre and Portofino during the summer months.
