I can imagine it's going to be a tough job, but worth it in the end. Is the roof of the upper bedroom area still structurally sound? The support beams seem to be the only thing holding it up. I hope you won't have too much trouble with that. The dresser in the master bedroom and the bed in the first bedroom are so nice. Are you planning on keeping them? The house really has a great floor plan. And the garden is probably going to be magnifiscent, as well. I wish you the best of luck!
A late thanks

Sorry to be so long replying to your note! The roof was completely demolished, including all the beams, a new steel collar was built around the top of the house to hold it together, and a new roof put on. So now a bomb could go off and it will probably stay intact! The ceilings on the top floor are all coming out though - so it will be 'trave a vista' to the roof. The master bedroom furniture looks better in the photos than in real life - they suffered water damage - but with a coat of paint they might live on. Thanks for your wishes!

Hi just had a look at your plans.I can't read the dimensions on your plans but have you thought about moving the (to be) rebuilt wall between the master & bed 2 across slightly so bed 2 is about the same size as bed 3 & putting a new wall behind the door to the master bed so that you can use the space between the two rooms as a small ensuite to the master bed ( a loo & basin at least) so that when you have guests you don't all have to share. If you aren't able to put in any additional windows you could install a sun pipe or rooflight to give light into this room. Don't know if it's of any help but it seems the most obvious place providing you can get the drainage to work. Good luck with the renovations!
