75 UK Electrical appliances emigrating to Italy !!

 - hope you get the joke (the emoticon is called 'shock' !!)

We are bringing some of our electrical appliances from Uk to Italy. Can we just put Italian plugs on them or do we need an adapter for each item ?

Just put new plugs on them once you get here. My own favorite plugs are by Btcino - widely available at electrical wholesalers.

If you bring a TV and hope to use it with an arial (as opposed to a satellite dish or digital terrestrial), you may have to get the sound adjusted.

We brought the TV. It is now about 5 years old and a Sony.

The TV works fine on an aerial except that one or two channels are outside the UK frequency range so we can't get them. The video does not work, we get picture but no sound.

If your vcr connects to your tv via a scart plug try the other socket (most vcr's come with two).

Just make sure you get the correct size of plugs to fit in to your wall sockets as there are different sizes available.

Brilliant...thanks everyone

....to follow on from all the good advise so far ...i also suggest you get a couple of those leads in england with multiple plugs for those things like rechargers and such or even computers with all their electrical attachments .... in that case you change the one plug on the lead to an italian one and plug all the rest into the multi plug sockets.... as in all things i would spend a bit more and get the ones that are fused as part of the multiplug area as a safety aspect...
