192 La Dolce Vita........London

I'd be interested to get people's feedback on La Dolce Vita exhibition in London. How did everyone else find it?

I'd be interested to hear whether it represented 'your' Italy. We met some interesting people, got a few pens(!) and got jostled a lot.....but it came no way close to representing 'our' Italy; the only trouble is that I can't put my finger on what it didn't represent.

Maybe it was just that it was a commercial event that a celebration of all things Italian & I went with 'the wrong head on', naive fool that I am!

General chat about Italy

I found the event too heavy on property sales and cheese tasting! I went on Saturday and of course it was very very busy. I didn't really know what to expect but came out disappointed. Perhaps there was something interesting to see but the heaving masses carried me past those. I'll know better next time.

I really enjoyed the event and as there were so many Italians there - it had a great atmosphere. We should also all remember that this was La Dolce Vita's first event and yes there's improvements that could be made, but all in all I loved the tastings, the cookery - which was really lively, and the sense of community from all the exhibitors.

I spoke with the MD of the events company and he's already planning bigger and better for next time. For me it was also great to meet up with people I only normally speak to on the phone or email. So well done to all the organisers and contributors.

I think the exhibition was excellent, compared to the standard we have in Italy.
Easy to access, no headache to find it nor parking, not so big, very easy to find everybody.

I think I had the best point of view since I came on Friday, when few people were in. Had I come in the weekend, I would have been disappointed.

Special mention for paradise possible, with the tasting stand.

And special mention to Ristorante Camerino, where I went after the exhibition.

We decided not to come as although the ticket price was low, the train fare was £80. Maybe the organisers would like to consider putting on a similar exhibition in Bristol?

or somewhere north of the watford gap would be nice for a change !!!!!!
